Privacy Policy
Last updated 30 July 2026. Applies to the CRBN DRV app and to my.crbnpaintball.com.
CRBN DRV is made by Base Paintball Inc., a California corporation. This policy describes exactly what the app and website collect, where it goes, and how to get rid of it.
The short version. Your shooting data is yours. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app at any time, without asking us.
You can use the app without an account
The app works fully offline against your loader with no account at all — syncing shots, changing loader settings, installing firmware. Signing in is optional and buys exactly two things: cloud backup, and seeing your data on this website. If you never sign in, nothing described in “What we store on our servers” below ever leaves your phone.
How you sign in
Sign-in is Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google only. We never see, receive, or store a password. There is no password to steal from us because there is none to store.
From Apple or Google we receive: a stable account identifier, your email address, and (on the first sign-in) your name. If you use Apple’s Hide My Email, we only ever see the relay address Apple generates, and that is what we store.
If you sign in with Apple on your phone and Google on your computer, those are joined into one account when both providers confirm the same verified email address. When we cannot confirm that, you get two separate accounts rather than us guessing that two people are the same person.
What the app collects on your phone

About location
The app asks for location permission for two reasons, and it is worth being precise about what happens to it:
- Naming your sessions by city. When a session starts, the app takes one low-accuracy position fix and converts it to a city name — for example “Inkoo”. That conversion is done by your phone’s own geocoding service (Apple on iOS, Google on Android), so your coordinates are sent to Apple or Google to perform the lookup, under their privacy policies. They are never sent to us and never stored. Only the resulting city name is kept, and only that is included in a backup.
- Bluetooth scanning. Android has historically required location permission for any app that scans for Bluetooth devices, whether or not it wants your location. Finding your loader needs that permission as a side effect.
Location is only accessed while you are using the app. You can deny the permission — sessions simply go unlabelled, and on Android you may need it to find your loader at all.
Photos
If you set a boot image for your loader, the photo you pick is resized and sent to the loader over Bluetooth. It is not uploaded to us and is not included in your cloud backup.
What we store on our servers
Only if you sign in and back up.
A backup is a complete copy of the app’s local database, compressed and uploaded. It contains everything in the table above. We keep the uploaded file exactly as your phone sent it, so a restore gives you back precisely what you had, and we also read it into a database so this website can show it to you.
We also store your account record (identifier from Apple/Google, email, name, when you last signed in) and access tokens for your devices. Tokens are stored hashed — a copy of our database would not let anyone sign in as you.
Our servers keep ordinary web logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. It is shared only with services that operate the product:

We may also disclose information if legally required, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
What we deliberately do not do
- No advertising, ad networks, or ad identifiers (no IDFA).
- No tracking you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing your personal information — including as “sale” or “sharing” is defined by California law.
- No storing passwords, because we never receive one.
- No storing or receiving your precise location. We only ever hold a city name.
Deleting your data
All of this is in the app under Profile:
- Delete account — erases your account, every backup file, and all shooting data on our servers. It cannot be undone. The data already on your phone stays on your phone.
- Delete backups — removes stored backups but keeps your account.
- Sign out — revokes that device’s access token.
You can also do this on the web at my.crbnpaintball.com/delete-account/, and download any backup from the Backups page in the same format the app uploaded it.
Deleting your account removes your data from our live systems immediately. Encrypted server backups are kept for a rolling period for disaster recovery and age out on their own schedule.
How long we keep things
Backups and shooting data are kept until you delete them or delete your account — your history is the product, so we do not expire it for you. Crash reports and web logs are kept for a limited period for troubleshooting.
Your rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request a copy, to ask us to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. The in-app tools above do the first three immediately and without asking us. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within the time the law requires.
Children
CRBN DRV is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the app.
